For the
past ten years, Hamish has toured as
co-founder of one of Australia’s most
successful indie bands, BROTHER. The
band's last tour took in the USA, Egypt,
France, and pieces of Oz. Having
recognized a need to be part of creating
an alternative, positive, and nurturing
vision for the environment, each other,
and those who will come after, Hamish
has returned home to his native country.
In establishing his solo show, Hamish
has translated and incorporated the
mongrel sensibilities of BROTHER. “i
wanted to experiment” says Hamish, “and
surround myself with the instruments and
sounds that have been my contribution to
the mongrel mix.”
For Hamish, this has meant getting
“comfy.”
“i'm up there with a couple of amps with my guitar
and slide, a studio mic in front for the
ambient voice and guitar mix, a bullet
mic to my left for a change of feel,
didg on a stand to my right, adding
organic drones and loops and enjoying
the moments.”
