Anticipation. What, exactly, is "black tie, Mongrel style"? What is the DVD going to be like?

Participation. Arrived at the theatre after a scrumptious dinner in the adjacent Washington House. Definite electricity in the air-our very own premiere!

Interpretation. No red carpet, but everyone looked fantastic in their mongrel best (nice pants, Dalbo!) The theatre, beautifully restored to its Victorian splendor, large enough to impress, yet small enough for intimacy.

Visitation. It was a special surprise to see Jim Dalton again after too long an absence from our shores, and we were thrilled to finally meet Leila!

Presentation. After the Cahills' brief introduction, the house lights went down and the DVD took over the screen and sound system. For the next 90 minutes we were transported into the inner workings of Mongrel Mythology. Intimate conversations with Hash, Gus, and Dalbo. Dead-on video interpretations of songs from The Urban Cave, colors and images evoking deep emotions. Everything larger than life. Not just hearing but actually feeling the music.

Ovation. Standing! Feeling something akin to the pride a parent feels in a child's accomplishment. Glowing inside. Part of the collective energy.

Celebration. After a brief intermission, Jim brought the guys to the stage for a rousing set that once again had the audience on its feet. We feel so lucky that of all the possible venues, "our theatre" was chosen for this very special event, and we are so glad to have been a part of this magical evening. Thank you to Hash, Gus, D'Albo, Bob, Sam, Jim, Leila, and everyone!

Anticipation, again. Let the Mythology continue!

Thanks for the opportunity to express my thoughts--hope you enjoy them!
