2008 begins as the year unfolds ... i suddenly find myself officially a resident of this country, after 16 years of dealing with immigration. after years of visa applications and consulate visits and endless fees and and and it feels great to not have to worry about all that anymore ... i find myself clean shaven and with much shorter hair, after several weeks in shaggy hibernation mode ... i find myself blissfully married after a lifetime spent pretty much on my own. i was happy. now i am joyful, grateful, and more myself than ever ... i find myself getting ready to move, from the never ending summer of southern california to a place of mountains and waterfalls and bears and feet of snow winters and red gold autumns and am i ready for the cold? and snow tires and driveway shoveling and and and am i ready for an adventure, you ask? getting ready as you read ... along with seeking dates for the new BROTHER with the incomparable leila. it's an interesting process with such a history as this band has and after having been somewhat out of the scene a while. we shall see ... i also find myself writing and thinking more and more of an angus album and show ... i suppose you could say i find myself with much to occupy me these days. and i find myself looking forward to another year. a joyous one to you all. i hope it is well begun ... angus
