10/8/07 such an interesting time. the seasons change around me in my backyard. i love the coolth of autumn here in LA. the recent rain has washed clean and enlivened everything, including the sky ... and as i write and experiment in this time of no shows, i change too. i am finding that with everything so different now, the possibilities are many ... i play with technology, making myself go there when i wouldn't have in the past. but only for so long... and then i write, and play with arrangements of songs, old and new. what is the simplest, most powerful way to present an idea, a song, a part of you? for the 2 shows coming up it'll be just me and drew. a warm up at 'the gig' in hollywood then our first festival as a 2 piece, in florida. tis an ongoing process, determining what those shows will be. i want them raw and riveting. the process excites me. 8/23/07 incredible winds. shaking trees and slamming doors. another rarity here. then these ravenous fires. outside there is an unearthly golden light, sun thru the smoke. like smog making a spectacular sunset. reminds me of oz and the bushfires we get down there ... we are safe here, far from the flames. our prayers are with those who are truly feeling the heat. may the fires be quickly contained. and may more rain fall, and more ... angus
